Suitable for: 10yrs +

The Future Aleppo: Virtual Reality Prototype was commissioned by Sheffield Doc/Fest, in partnership with FACT and with support from Arts Council England. Having lost his original model after fleeing Aleppo, we have rebuild Mohammed’s city in Virtual Reality so that it can be preserved digitally and be shared with people across the world.

This work represents the first stage in a process designed to encourage children to re-imagine their devastated city and emulate Mohammed in rebuilding their remembrances using simple paper craft materials. We will then expand on this piece by creating a huge collectively built interactive Virtual Reality

Alex has been working with Mohammed since 2015. Before that, he had worked in film as a director and latterly across each sector of the film industry; from Development and Financing through to Sales and Distribution.

He started working in ‘Multi Platform Storytelling’ in 2012 , before focusing on ‘Transmedia’ and more interactive forms of narrative. He organizes workshops at film festivals across the World, and is especially excited to run a very special building session at Playground.
