A Tale Unfolds

ataleunfolds.co.uk

Suitable for: 6yrs to 11yrs

This is a selection of films that were written, performed and filmed by 7-11 year olds in their primary school English lessons. On 19th June 2017, they were shown as part of LitFilmFest at the BFI IMAX in London, the largest screen in Britain, to over 1600 pupils and their teachers. The aim of the festival was to showcase how combining traditional literacy with digital skills leads to radical improvements in both areas as well as a huge increase in pupil engagement in the classroom.

A Tale Unfolds, the social enterprise behind LitFilmFest, is a team of experienced primary school teachers who recognise that digital skills are the key to unlocking the enormous potential of our young people. By creating education projects for the primary classroom, we allow teachers to meet the demands of the National Curriculum for English and radically improve their traditional literacy skills at the same time as both engaging pupils through digital content and preparing them for success in their digital futures
